What is the Back to Education Initiative (BTEI) ?
BTEI provides part-time education programmes for young people and adults. The aim is to give people an opportunity to combine a return to learning with family, work and other responsibilities. BTEI programmes are offered in the mornings, afternoons and evenings. Courses are offered in both Dundalk and Drogheda and are free for any adult with less than a Leaving Certificate (or equivalent) qualification. Courses are also free for anyone in receipt of a means tested social welfare payment. Qualified adults whose partners are receiving a payment may also apply.

What is the Community Education Service?
County Louth VEC's Community Education Service supports and assists new and existing community groups in County Louth in establishing community-based education programmes. Community Education programmes aim to help learners develop their self-confidence and educational skills base so that they can actively take part in their communities.
