Co. Louth VEC plans to run EASTER ACTIVITY SCHOOLS in both cookery and creative writing during the forthcoming Easter school holidays between Monday, 10th and Friday, 13thApril 2012. These Easter activity events are aimed at building on the success of the summer schools which the VEC ran for the first time last year. The VEC ran two very successful hip-hop summer dance schools in Dundalk and Drogheda last year. The Easter cookery school will be held in O’Fiaich College, Dundalk and is aimed at 8-13 year olds. Under the tuition of experienced staff, the school will be an opportunity for participants to produce both savoury and sweet dishes, which can be taken home and enjoyed by all the family. The creative writing school will be held in St. Oliver’s Community College, in Drogheda and will be ideal for younger people (8-13yrs) wishing to explore their own writing interests. It aims to be fun and informative, and will be of particular benefit to participants with a flair for writing stories and poems, as well as those hoping for a future career in writing. Themes explored will include writing games and exercises, poems and story writing, working with prompts, drama writing, short plays and improving grammar and punctuation skills. Schools are priced at just €40 and €50 respectively. Application forms are available on the Co. Louth VEC website at www.louthvec.ie or by calling Co. Louth VEC on 042 9334047. Places are limited. Early booking is advised. ENDS For further information regarding the above please contact: Mr. Ian Walker |
